Health & Safety Policy

As an employer you must have a Health and Safety Policy under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. If you have five or more employees, this must be in writing.

The Health and Safety Policy sets out your general approach and objectives, and the arrangements you’ve put in place to manage Occupational Health and Safety. It’s a unique document outlining who does what, when they do it and how they do it.

A policy is only effective if acted upon and followed by you and your employees.

Prices from £450 + VAT.

A Comprehensive Approach to Evaluating Your Health & Safety Framework

Our Health & Safety Audit offers a thorough assessment of your current policies, procedures, documentation, and systems to ensure full compliance and best practice alignment. By identifying potential risks before they escalate, we help you take proactive steps to strengthen your H&S performance and implement practical, effective solutions tailored to your organisation.

Prices from £850 + VAT

Incident / Accident Investigation

We can assist with an effective investigation requiring a methodical, structured approach and use findings to form the basis of an action plan. This will make accidents or incidents less likely to happen again and to improve your overall risk management.

Findings will also point to areas of your risk assessments that need to be reviewed.

Prices from £850 + VAT.

Fire Risk Assessment Service

At Craven Consultancy Services Ltd, we understand that fire safety is a legal requirement, but more importantly, a critical responsibility that protects lives, property, and business continuity. Our comprehensive Fire Risk Assessment Service is designed to help organisations of all sizes identify potential fire hazards, evaluate existing control measures, and implement practical steps to reduce fire risk across the premises.

Our experienced assessors carry out detailed site inspections in accordance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. This includes reviewing all aspects of fire prevention, detection, and evacuation procedures, ensuring that both physical systems and management protocols are fully compliant with current legislation. Whether you operate from a small office, a multi-site estate, or a high-risk industrial environment, we tailor our assessments to reflect the unique characteristics and challenges of your business operations.

Following the on-site inspection, we provide a clear, jargon-free report that outlines significant findings, evaluates the level of risk, and prioritises actionable recommendations. We also include a bespoke fire safety action plan, enabling your organisation to take informed steps toward improving fire safety culture, reducing liability, and maintaining legal compliance.

Partnering with Craven means more than just ticking a box. We work closely with your team to deliver value beyond compliance, supporting training initiatives, offering periodic reviews, and keeping your fire risk strategy aligned with changes in operations or legislation. Our proactive approach gives you peace of mind—knowing that your people, assets, and reputation are protected by robust fire risk management practices.

Fire Risk Assessments start from as little as £450 + VAT depending on the size and complexity of your business.

Risk Assessments and Method Statements

You need to protect your business with risk assessments and method statements covering the workplace. You also need these to comply with the law. They help you focus on important workplace risks – the ones which can cause real harm.

In many instances, straightforward measures can readily control these risks.

The law does not expect you to eliminate all risk but requires you to protect people as far as is ‘reasonably practicable’.

You need to write risk assessments and Method Statements in house but we can advise and assist with these including using templates.

Prices from £350 + VAT for a set of RAMS, or individual assessments from £60 + VAT.

COSHH Assessments

People’s health can be put at risk using chemicals or other hazardous substances at work.  The law requires you as an employer to control exposure to hazardous substances to prevent ill health.

By complying with the Regulations you’ll protect anyone who may be exposed.  We can help with this by carrying out COSHH assessments on all chemicals used within your business.

Priced individually for customers not taking a monthly support package.

Price: £35 + VAT per COSHH assessment.

Site Files

We can provide a site file to manage Health and Safety on your construction site. This will include a Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan. We’ll also provide Risk Assessments and Method Statements for the work you’re doing plus a full set of templates covering site work.

The Construction Phase Plan is designed to assist the principal contractor in the day-to-day management of all Health and Safety issues throughout the construction process.

Prices from £450 + VAT.

We can also carry out site inspections for you – from £350 + VAT, dependent on distance, plus mileage at 45p per mile.

Site Inspections

Regular Health & Safety site inspections play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and legal compliance of all workplaces. We support a wide range of environments, including:

  • Construction sites

  • Manufacturing and engineering facilities

  • Food production environments

  • Warehousing and logistics operations

  • Workshops, retail, hospitality, and office settings

Here are some key reasons why site inspections are essential:

  1. Safety:
Regular inspections help identify potential hazards and highlight actions needed to prevent accidents, injuries, unsafe behaviours, equipment issues, and near misses.

  2. Compliance:
Inspections ensure that all sites comply with relevant legislation, HSE guidance, industry standards, and internal company requirements.

  3. Communication & Collaboration:
Inspections create an opportunity for open discussion between managers, employees, contractors, and safety advisers. This encourages proactive reporting and joint problem-solving.

  4. Continuous Improvement:
Inspections help identify areas where processes, equipment, or behaviours can be improved. This supports stronger risk management, better safety performance, and a more positive health & safety culture.

Overall, site inspections are essential for maintaining safety, compliance, quality, and operational efficiency across all sectors — from construction through to manufacturing and office-based environments. They help prevent incidents, protect people, safeguard assets, and support legal duties.

We can carry out site inspections for any type of workplace — construction or otherwise — from £350 + VAT, dependent on distance, plus mileage at 45p per mile.

Stand Out with Recognised Health & Safety Accreditations
