Welcome, I’m Megan, trainee Health and Safety Advisor here at Craven Consultancy Services. I joined the team on April the 17th 2023 (yes, I can remember the dates)
And wow what a journey so far.
First, I’ll start by saying I felt so lucky to get this job role as I’ve wanted a career where I could make a difference for a long time, this Health and Safety Advisor role was perfect, and it seemed to come along at the most perfect time as well. Prior to getting the job life had really made me feel like I needed a challenge, I really needed something to get stuck into, a place where I could grow and develop a whole new skill set whilst making a difference to people.
So, here we are, what better way to make a difference than guiding people into having a safe working environment for themselves and their employees. Let’s be honest, we spend a lot of our time at work, and we should expect and hope to come to a workplace every day that we know is safe.
I’m now almost four months in! wow I can’t believe it. I have honestly learnt so much in the grand scheme of things (a small amount of time!) and I’m excited to see how things will look in another 4 months’ time… and the time after that. Don’t get me wrong, there has been times where I have been a little nervous, but I have been out of my comfort zone, and this is bound to happen. Most importantly I always manage to overcome these feelings and its important to pat yourself on the back for that.
One of the things I absolutely love about working at Craven is the team, we are only a small team, but we fit together so well. Since being here these guys have made me feel so welcome and supported, and we really do all work together to get the job done and help each other wherever possible. There is so much power in working as a team.
Next, I want to move on to another great thing about working here, the flexibility. I’ve only been here almost four months but, in that time, I have been offered the chance to work a four-day week which is amazing! As well as the options to work from home as and when I want. Workplace flexibility is important, and it is possible to be productive no matter when and where you are in producing valuable work. Sometimes being in your own environment and just really getting your head down and getting on with work is needed, and it really can enhance the efficiency and productivity of your work so the fact I can work from home is greatly appreciated.
I always try and reflect on the things I have achieved here already so far! I completed a 6-week Mental Health course as well as gaining my certificate for attending a first aid course. Both these qualifications are extremely valuable and are essential bits of knowledge to have and I feel grateful I’ve been able to achieve these with Craven so far.
Moving on from qualifications another fab thing about working here is the E-Learning that we have to offer, and I’ve been lucky enough to have the chance to complete some of these amazing courses so far. There are so many courses to choose from suitable for all industries and due to the fact that the courses are all new and exciting we have some really great offers on at the moment, including our Buy one get one free offer and our back to back referral rewards scheme which enables businesses to earn 10% commission on every successful referral…
I’m learning something new here every day! And getting more confident every day! Along side with study days every Tuesday and gaining all the knowledge I need to become a competent Health and Safety Advisor. I’m currently putting together a portfolio of work that will aid me and my knowledge into becoming an efficient, qualified Health and Safety Advisor. I cant wait to smash some of these goals.
This journey is going to be a never-ending process of learning as well as bettering my skills and understanding of the Health and Safety world.
I’m fortunate and lucky that my journey is going to be here at Craven and I’m looking forward to seeing what opportunities being here at Craven will give me.
Thanks for taking the time to read guys????
